CLEVELAND — Jake Peavy coasted for six innings before giving up a run in the seventh and Adam Dunn homered, leading the Chicago White Sox to an easy 8-1 win over the AL Central-leading Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night and a split of their four-game series. Peavy (4-1) allowed seven hits, struck out five and had little difficulty with the Indians, who didn’t get a runner past second until the seventh. The right-hander has been overpowering in his last five starts, posting a 1.36 ERA.

Serving as the Cleveland Indians' closer, Chris Perez proves no stranger to the spotlight, but sometimes the limelight's illumination extends from Perez's vocal personality rather than his pitching abilities. For instance, take the brief but odd confrontation between Chris Perez--nicknamed "Pure Rage"--and Chicago White Sox center fielder Alex Rios, which occurred after the final out to the Tribe's 7-5 victory over their Central Division foe Thursday, May 3. MLB.com's Scott Merkin reported on the situation Friday, May 4, noting Rios gave Perez a look because the closer started yelling when the center fielder hit a ground ball, which led to the final out of the game.
